In a country where women have reach the frontiers of space, basic necessities such as access to clean drinking water, toilets, basic education, fundamental knowledge and products for feminine hygiene are still unavailable to women in rural areas. Taking initiatives to educate and aware them about the fundamental knowledge of health care and teach them to use hygiene products during menstruation & pregnancy.
Addressing the gaps and challenges of menstrual hygiene and management for the last women by engaging comprehensively with all key stakeholders.
Breaking the culture of shame and silence around menstruation for the last women in rural and slum India and addressing their menstrual hygiene challenges with menstrual Access, Awareness and Affordability. Motivating less privileged girls and women to use sanitary pads and distributing sanitary pads for free to rural and slum areas of Rajasthan.
Establishing Menstruation as a normal in urban and rural culture. Women in remote areas who have no access, awareness or affordability getting Cloth sanitary pads, with awareness. Motivating rural women and communities to use their wisdom, resources and efforts to address their related sanitation, water related issues
Adding to this campaign we at I CAN are planning for livelihood and to providing affordable sanitary pads to women of less privileged community. We are planning to purchase sanitary pads making machine which costs 8-10 lakhs. Which helps our UDGAM Centres to generate livelihood in every rural area or nearby areas. Also, women from these rural or slum areas will get quality and affordable sanitary pads. What we need is your support to purchase machines for this project.
In a compartmentalized world, the rights of women and those of children have often been promoted in isolation from one another.
"I CAN" shows how discrimination and other human rights violations against women affect children and vice versa.
